High School N 76 (The School of Noospheric Education) is situated in a small town. This town (Lesnoy) is not very famous in Russia. But it was the most comfortable one in Sverdlovsk Oblast in 2001. It is a native town of Alexander Popov. I'm sure you do know our Olympic champion, the best swimmer of Russia. In our town a famous boxer, Kastya Dzu, had several fight shows. There are many poets and writers in Lesnoy, maybe thanks to its picturesque landscapes: mountains, woods, rivers and lakes.

I think our town is also known due to School N 76. There are only two schools of such kind in Russia. Its the most beautiful school I have ever seen in my life (of course, I haven't seen many schools during my life). Our school is a new one. It was built in 1995. It's named in honour of Vasylyev D. Y., the first principal of our plant. The main aim of our school is to develop ecological knowledge, skills and critical thinking among our students. Our supervisor of studies is Professor Sylorskaya, the leader of the Regional Centre of Ecology in Ekaterinberg.
Our school has all the opportunities to develop students' physical and intellectual skills and the support their ideas in different spheres. There are two swimming pools, three gyms, an observatory, a winter garden, a library, two computer classes, a canteen, a cafe for students, a museum of our school (its history), two video halls, a concert hall, an exhibition of students' pictures and projects and a garage with cars and a school bus for trips to Ekaterinburg and other sites , their theatres, museums and circuses. We have parrots, an eagle and turtles in the winter garden.

Field brigades, expeditions and research societies are organized in our school. We also have training grounds in Ecology where students observe changes in nature. There are research brigades in geography, biology, astronomy and English at school. Our students take part and often win in different intellectual competitions especially in astronomy, physics, ecology and English. We also organize work on projects. We try to take part in all the competitions: interschool, regional, all-the-Russian and even international.
One of our students has won the first prize in the all-the -Russian conference in astronomy. So as you can see our students can develop their skills in different directions. They have a chance to demonstrate their individual talents. Marachlin Anatoly and Postnikov Kossya (students at our school) have been in Japan and have taken the black belt in karate. There are 1300 students at school and everybody can find himself in the sphere he wants. There are about 150 teachers at school and I, Galina Romanova, am one of them.
