Introduction to Benchmark III

The students at Weber Institute decided to synthesize and e valuate our nuclear non-proliferation research by developing two fictitious nations who might approach the development and deployment of nuclear weapons differently. Thus, we decided to create to utopian vision of a perfect nuclear world. One, Peacenik Island, favors a peaceful approach to a nuclear weapons program by promoting world peace, unity, and the non-existence of nuclear weapons in their country. The other utopian vision, Nucleartopia, promotes a world that sees nuclear weapons as a necessity to prevent further violence. Although the two promotional websites from these countries represent the project and culmination of our research, the propaganda posters (provided as links from the main pages of the two utopias) allow the viewer to understand the competing views of contemporary nations (e.g. Japan, Iran, North Korea, etc.) who approach the topic differently.
