2002-2003 Student Benchmarks & Activities

The work for the 2002-2003 school year is to learn about the issues involved in Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) in volatile regions of the world. Students will address these issues from the following perspectives: scientific, environmental, political/geopolitical, economic, and social/cultural.

Student participants will create products for each of the Benchmarks, all of which will be posted to the CIF website. These products may be in any format that can be posted to the web (but must not exceed 10MB in total size for each school). Participants will analyze the key aspects of WMD in regional conflicts and their ramifications for the future. These products may also be the students' presentation at the Spring 2003 CIF student conference although a separate presentation may be acceptable. For a good example of the kind of work that is expected, please check this site http://www.zianet.com/sadobbyn.
